If we are pure at heart, we would not wish
one person well and not another. We should see there is no difference
between one person or another. Then our pure thoughts can be evenly
spread between all people. Sunshine can reflect on clean water but not
on dirty water. God’s light will be reflected by those persons with a
pure heart. –Hari Dass
If one can see stillness in action, and action in stillness, one is
the wise one among man. Although he might be still carrying out many
kinds of activities in this world, he has already attain the very high
level. –Bhagavad-gita
If one is not effected by the never ending stream of desires, in the
same way the ocean remains constant despite a never ending flow of water
from many rivers, one can achieve peace in the mind which can never be
achieved if one still wants to satisfy his desires. –Bhagavad-gita
If we don’t love ourselves, we would not love others. When someone
tell you to love others first, and to love others more than ourselves;
it is impossible. If you can’t love yourselves, you can’t love anybody
else. Therefore we must gather up our great power so that we know in
what ways we are good, what special abilities we have, what wisdom, what
kind of talent we have, and how big our love is. When we can recognize
our virtues, we can learn how to love others. –The Supreme Master Ching Hai
We are always learning from each
others. Only when we merge inside God would we stop learning. We will
understand more as we teach others, so we rely on teaching in order to
learn for ourselves. –Hari Dass
Our bodies, speeches and minds
need to be trained so that they will do anything we want. We can cry or
laugh at once when we want to. Then it will be a natural response; we
will cry when it is time to cry, and laugh when we should laugh. Do you
understand? We can get angry when necessary; we can be gentle if we have
to. We will completely become our own master. Then, no matter what we
want to do, it will benefit the world. It is not difficult to attain
this stage; all we need to do is to mediate. –The Supreme Master Ching Hai
During meditation, if we can concentrate all our attention on one
point, and put all problems in front of it, then they can be solved
immediately. Our power is great, but we never use it. If we do not use
our power by concentrating on it, then it seems we do not have any power
at all. –The Supreme Master Ching Hai
Sometimes, if we are faced with obstacles, be they tangible or not,
such as jealousy, worldly sentiment, greed, hatred or obsession, etc.,
there is no other way to overcome them except by practicing more
diligently. You need to read Master’s books and to listen to Master’s
tapes more often, meditate more, do Quan Yin more, put more effort into
your practice and concentrate more on the path of practice. It is safe
only when you are sheltered by the supreme power, no other way. –The Supreme Master Ching Hai
Sometimes, after you have taken part in a seven, one or two-day
retreat, you could feel that your level of practice had risen. That was
because we had given our undivided attention to breaking through our
level of practice. We knew that was the sole purpose of coming to a
retreat here, so our levels were uplifted and our karma left behind. –The Supreme Master Ching Hai
Those who believe in truth and justice and have a high morality are not vulnerable, as God will look after them. –Koran
Only by spiritual practice can we break through our karma and the
effects of the causes we have made. Only then can we escape from them.
It matters not whether you have acquired any merit. Merit is merit.
Karma is karma. Nonetheless, if one practices the Quan Yin Method, one
can be liberated regardless of having any merit or not. It is so
logical, so scientific. –The Supreme Master Ching Hai
It can causes us great trouble if we do not handle our worldly love
carefully. Of course we can love someone. If we use our love to help and
encourage each other, to cultivate our aspiration to practice the path
of Truth and thus uplift the level of our practice, then it is fine.
However, if in order to love someone, no matter how good or beautiful
that person may be, we have to keep on reincarnating in this bitter sea
of suffering, then it is not worth it at all. This is how there is a
good and bad side to loving someone. Anything has a light and a dark
side and depending on which side you use, the result will be good or bad
for you. -The Supreme Master Ching Hai
